Clear Broken Capillaries and Redness Safely

Visible blood vessels, often caused by sun exposure, genetics, aging, or rosacea. These small, dilated vessels can make the skin appear blotchy, red, or uneven. At Joerg Schuller MD General Practice, we offer advanced laser vein and capillary treatment using medical-grade technology to safely and effectively target these vessels — with little to no downtime.

Laser Vein Treatment Safety and Customization

The lasers we use are FDA-cleared and safe for most skin types, though treatment plans are always customized based on vessel size, location, and skin sensitivity. Dr. Schuller carefully calibrates settings to maximize results while minimizing risk, especially on delicate facial areas.

Patients with active rosacea may benefit from combination therapy involving laser, skin barrier support, and topical anti-inflammatory regimens to prevent recurrence.

What Are Telangiectasias?

Telangiectasias are small, broken or widened blood vessels near the surface of the skin. They can occur anywhere but are most common:

  • Around the nose and cheeks
  • On the chin and forehead
  • On the chest or décolleté
  • On the legs and ankles

They may be associated with chronic sun damage, rosacea, hormonal changes, or previous skin trauma.

How Laser Vein Treatment Works

We use Nd:YAG and Alexandrite lasers, which emit wavelengths that are absorbed by hemoglobin (the red pigment in blood). When the laser energy is absorbed, it heats the vessel walls, causing them to collapse and be gradually absorbed by the body — without harming the surrounding skin.

These laser wavelengths are ideal for:

  • Facial spider veins
  • Broken capillaries
  • Redness associated with rosacea
  • Cherry angiomas
  • Venous lakes

What to Expect

  • Treatment Time: Typically 15–30 minutes depending on area
  • Discomfort: Mild heat or snapping sensation; topical cooling is used for comfort
  • Downtime: Minimal. Some patients experience redness or mild swelling for 1–2 days.
  • Results: Treated vessels fade over 2–4 weeks. Multiple sessions (2–3) may be needed for optimal clearance..
